Workshop 100 - Songwriter Recording

The Plan Outline

Step 1: We first meet in a small group - usually no more than 15 songwriters.
Step 2:  We record the selected song from a songwriter or songwriting team.
Step 3:  We then meet as a group to discuss the song - how it could be improved.
Step 4:  A rough arrangement emerges, the arrangement is refined
Step 5:  A rough chart of the arrangement is created
Step 6:  The song begins a re-recording process where we record the new arrangement using the musicians in the room.

The idea is to get your song ready for a recording session by taking all the needed steps in preparation of that event.

Because of the nature of the workshop, each songwriter will be co-writing with other writers who attend the workshop.  In the final production version, there may be 4 different main writers.  Paperwork will be on hand.  Slot-1 will retain exclusive rights to the demo recording, meaning that the studio owns the recording of the song.  All writers get a CD copy of the final song.
